We help project owners, whether government or institutions, to define their project design and mobilise financial support for large water and sanitation projects. Our consultancy support aims to provide sustainable water provision and management solutions, ranging from providing complex high technological solutions for high-populated areas to more basic facilities in sparse rural areas.
Exploration Mining
We have built specialised teams to review academic and commercial geological data. These teams determine our targets for exploration. Using our own capital we have developed exploration programmes in Central Asia.
Our team's ethos is driven by a commitment to ethical business practices and care for our natural world. To that end we are focussed on targeting minerals for the electrification of transport.

CEO
Afzal Amin is a former British Army officer, Parliamentary candidate and multi-lingual academic who has been working in infrastructure and minerals development in emerging and frontier markets since 2013.
His practical experience spans Mauritania, Somaliland, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan.
He has a particular interest in sustainable technologies in transport and city design. His work in infrastructure and minerals is geared towards supporting Mankind’s transition towards a environmentally responsible future as our species learns to better utilise the planet’s resources.
Conor Murphy
Board Director
Conor has over 25 years’ experience in banking and finance working for a Top 4 accounting firm, global consultancy firm and AAA-rated international development in multiple countries. He is also Board advisor for multiple companies in profit and not-for-profit sector. He first trained as a chartered accountant in UK but also has professional qualifications in risk management, Islamic finance and audit. He has extensive experience in financial policies development, market and liquidity risk management, portfolio financial analysis, internal & external audit and training. He has advised and consulted for governments, central and listed banks, microfinance institutions, and companies in field of mining, international trade and investments in Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.
Atif Raza

Atif Raza is a UK qualified Chartered Accountant with 30 years of experience in financial services and diversified business conglomerates. Atif has significant experience employed in listed financial institutions in the Middle East, UK and emerging markets. He is a trusted top-tier professional in financial and operational management capabilities in these sectors with a proven track record in change management in large and diversified family groups.

Sir William Patey KCMG, LLD
Sir William has had a long and distinguished career with the British Diplomatic Service, serving as British Ambassador for Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Sudan and Afghanistan. He was also Head of the Middle East Department in FCO and postings in Tripoli, Abu Dhabi and Canberra. Sir William has been the Government and International Affairs Adviser at Control Risks since July 2012, Director at WCP Consultants and Partner at The Ambassador Partnership LLP. He advises businesses entering and operating in the Gulf region, in particular in the oil and gas sector and financial services and defence industries. He was for six years as a non-executive director of HSBC Bank Middle East. Sir William has co-founded the Labour Middle East Council which serves as a platform to convey best policy ideas and practice to governmental, academic and corporate stakeholders.
The Honourable Sir William Shawcross CVO
Sir William is a multi-published author and journalist who sits at the heart of London’s political and social nexus. He has written widely on history, politics, human rights and law. Some of his works are focussed on aid agencies and international organisations: ‘The Quality of Mercy – Cambodia, genocide and Modern Conscience’ and ‘Deliver Us From Evil – Warlords and Peacekeepers in a World of Endless Conflict’. His other works include the official biography of the Queen Mother and a BBC TV Series ‘Monarchy.’ Chair of the Charity Commission 2012-2017, he was knighted in 2023. Sir William was appointed ‘Commander of the Victorian Order’ by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Mr Mike Gifford OBE
Mike is a former senior British diplomat, most recently HMA in Kazakhstan, with many years of experience leading various teams in London as well as in British diplomatic missions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Over the course of his career he has worked on the UK’s relations with the EU, counter-terrorism policy, Middle East policy and global property asset management for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. His past postings as British Ambassador include: The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) from 2012-15 and Yemen from 2004- 2007. Most recently, he served as the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan from 2018 to 2021, based in Astana. He serves on the Board of Governors of De Montfort University Kazakhstan, the first British university campus in Kazakhstan. In January 2022 Mike was appointed OBE for services to British foreign policy.
Mr Dirk Dumuschat CFA
Dirk is a highly experienced quantitative financial analyst and portfolio manager with more than 20 years in capital markets and solid track record in investment strategy, investment analysis, risk management and risk methodology, derivatives pricing across asset classes, and ALM. He has developed multi-asset fund and hedge fund investment strategies and accompanying performance analytics systems. Dirk has worked in various leading financial institutions, for banks and asset managers in New York, London, Frankfurt, Berlin and Jeddah. He holds a master’s degree in Financial Mathematics and Probability Theory from Technical University of Berlin and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

History
The core team at London Expertise Ltd have worked together since 2010 collaborating on infrastructure projects in frontier markets. After various iterations of corporate structures and branding we launched London Expertise – a specialised consultancy bringing sector specific experts together to serve the needs of project owners, project financiers and project contractors.

London Expertise has industry expertise and experience working with governments, state-owned entities, multilaterals institutions and large private sector companies for a number of decades. Our team comprise of some of the best international experts in the field of corporate and project quantitative financial analysis, operational and financial risk management, treasury operations, corporate governance, audit, and compliance, in some of the world’s leading institutions and corporations.
Record
To date, our team have held senior advisory roles to Heads of States, organized major international investment forums in London, and established international groundwork for contracts. We have developed relationship with major state-owned entities including foreign Sovereign Wealth Funds and initiated major contracts in extractive industries in several countries.
